Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of our frequently asked questions. For more information please contact us at (800) 288-6629.

Q: What kind of wheel damage can be repaired?

A: The most common damage is called “Curb Rash”, which is the scraping of the wheel against the curb while driving or parking. Another type of damage is when you hit a pothole or object on the road and the wheel is bent and requires wheel straightening. Sometimes this causes the wheel to crack. Many cracks can be welded back into place by skilled aluminum welders, although not all cracks can be fixed. The wheel finish can get damaged by rocks, fading of the paint and peeling of the clear coat. The majority of wheel damage can be repaired and your wheel can be brought back to a “Like-New” condition.

Q: Will a refurbished wheel match my other wheels?

A: All of our repair and refinishing services will match the OEM specifications & color codes of the auto manufacturer. However, a newly refinished wheel will be a shade or two off from your other wheels because of age and fading from the weather. This shading difference in most cases is minor and not readily noticeable.

Q . How much does it cost to repair a wheel?

A: It depends on size, style, color, type of finish, and if it’s a stock (OEM) or aftermarket wheel.

Q . What kind of damage work do you typically see?

A: The types of damage we see most often are a result of a vehicle driving over a large pot hole or hitting a curb. These can simply deform the lip of the wheel or it may have also bent the hub. Typically we can bend back the lips and straighten the hub with the correct amount of force at precise angles. Sometimes it requires some milling on a lathe to dial in the exact trueness of the wheel so it will balance perfectly with no wobble.

Q . Can I leave my car at your shop?

A: Yes, you can leave your car at our shop no matter if you need one wheel or all four wheels repaired.

Q . My wheel is scratched, it has curb damage (road rash) can you repair this?

A: Yes, we can cosmetically repair your wheel to look “like new” using factory powder coatings.
